How the Gateway Is Used
The gateway sits between Bluetooth devices on the floor and the system that manages them. Asset tags, sensors, and other units already send short wireless bursts. It listens, packs those readings, and sends them over Wi-Fi. Staff do not have to walk the aisle with a scanner for every update.
A translator and a post office
One side hears Bluetooth. The other joins the network you already run, including WPA2-EAP enterprise Wi-Fi. Data can travel by MQTT. Optional SSL/TLS and a certificate put a lock on the way out, so settings and readings are harder to intercept or change.
The connection version is not listen-only. Through the control platform a tag can light up when a worker needs to find a bin. Parameters can be changed, and updates can be pushed to many devices from a desk rather than from a ladder.
Fewer boxes per floor
In open space the radio can cover about 300 metres. Walls, racks, and stock will shrink that figure. The aim is fewer units per floor and a lower install bill, not a number that only works in an empty hall.
Fits the site you have
Use Power over Ethernet or a 5 V adapter. Fix it with screws, magnets, or a bracket. A colour ring on the housing shows status: working, joining a network, or in the middle of an update. Firmware can go out over the air, or by USB, file, or the local network if a wired path is safer for that site.
Built for networks that drop
It can remember more than one Wi-Fi point and try the next if the first fails. If the server link drops, it can keep a local copy so a short outage does not wipe the last readings. When the line returns, the record does not go blank.
What efficiency looks like
Fewer van trips. Fewer missed scans. Fewer labels that only change when someone remembers the walk. Several Bluetooth formats are accepted, so mixed hardware can share one uplink instead of a second private network.
Where it belongs
Warehouses, clinics, shops, and production lines all need the same middle step: collect, protect, hold if needed, send—and send an instruction back when a device on the shelf must answer.
